Among the groups of volunteers who went to the National Resource Operations Center (NROC), the national warehouse and command center of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), at the height of heavy rains and floods brought about by the Southwest monsoon,  one group stood out.
The group is composed of Andie, Arby, Mark, Russel, Ryan and Jolo . They are children with down syndrome and they discovered the real  joy of helping others in times of disasters.

Lovingly called as “special angels” by Ms. Marice Cruz, mother of Andie, the group worked through the day repacking relief goods.

Ms.  Cruz said that “we brought the kids to experience the true meaning of “ONENESS” and having a “hands on” experience of what “BAYANIHAN” is all about. ###
