As more relief goods and relief workers reached the affected areas in Bohol after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit Cebu and Bohol last Tuesday, added help for the quake victims continue to pour in both from the government and private sectors.

For five days, the DSWD and Bohol Provincial Government distributed 87,157 family packs worth more than 21 million.  Each food pack that costs P250.00 contains three (3) kilos of rice and eight (8) assorted canned goods enough for a two-day consumption of a family of five.  Foodpacks are distributed to affected families both inside and outside evacuation centers (ECs).

As of 6:00 AM today October 21, there are 64 ECs in Bohol scattered in the 25 hardest hit towns mostly situated in the western side of the province serving 20,014 families or 98,573 persons.  Morevover, a total of  52,850 other families or 242,883 persons stay outside ECs or in nearby open spaces.

In Cebu, DSWD Field Office-7 is also continuously repacking relief goods round the clock.  They are expected to produce at least 10,000 family packs a day to be dispatched to Bohol daily via Phil Air Force  C130, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and other commercial vessels like 2Go.

Badly affected areas in Bohol are: Sagbayan, Calape, Inabanga, Loon, Tubigon, Beunavista, Getafe, Carmen, Dagohoy, Balilihan, Pilar, Danao, Catigbian, San Isidro, Clarin, Loboc, Valencia, Loay, Garcia Hernandez, Maribojoc, Cortes, Corella, Bilar, Alburquerque, Dauis, Lila, Baclayon, Diniao, and Tagbilaran City. ###
