Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman said that as of today, September 25, the DSWD has released P82,505,515 million worth of assistance to families affected by the two-week armed conflict between government troops and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF)-Misuari faction.

Also, as of today, the total number of affected families still stands at 23,794 or 118,819 persons equivalent to 54 percent of affected barangays in Zamboanga City.

Thirty three (33) evacuation centers remain open serving 18,011 families with 99,193 persons.  Some 11,979 families or 71,265 persons equivalent to 72 percent of the total number of evacuees are staying at the JFE Enriquez Sports Complex.

Secretary Soliman said that, the grandstand, the biggest evacuation center, was divided into four zones with a designated camp management team in every zone to ensure orderly management and relief distribution

The DSWD also ensures the continuous distribution of food packs to families outside evacuation centers through the City Social Welfare and Development District Offices.

Meanwhile, as of press time, 10,160 houses were totally damaged from the incident. ###
