Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman, Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Chief Representative in the Philippines Takahiro Sasaki signed today the Deed of Donation for the relief items amounting to 38 million Yen intended for  earthquake victims in Bohol.

The relief items include 150 tents, 485 blue sheets, and other materials which can be used for the construction of temporary shelters for the affected families. DSWD and JICA will distribute the items  over the weekend.

Secretary Soliman thanked the Japanese government saying that the relief items will address the need for more temporary shelters.

The Japanese  government, through their Embassy in the Philippines and JICA, vowed to continue supporting Bohol’s recovery efforts and economic development.

JICA, according to Sasaki, will continue to share Japan’s expertise and resources on earthquake monitoring with the Philippines. ###
