A total of 152 beneficiaries of the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program (FSP) in Palo, Leyte purchase nutritious food items using their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards loaded with Php3,000 food credits during their first redemption day on Thursday (July 18) at the Palo Sports Complex.

The beneficiaries were able to purchase 50 percent carbohydrate-rich food like rice and bread; 30 percent protein-rich food such as chicken and pork; and 20 percent vegetables and fruits from partner-merchants and retailers.

Witnessing the redemption day of the beneficiaries were DSWD Undersecretary for Innovations Edu Punay and DSWD Field Office-8 (Eastern Visayas) Regional Director Grace Subong.

The FSP is a priority program of the Marcos administration that aims to combat involuntary hunger by providing food augmentation to qualified beneficiaries, and change their behavior to start consuming affordable and nutritious local food products. #
