The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) threw its support behind the campaign of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that aims to ensure that Filipino children are registered with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

During an episode of the DSWD’s online program “4Ps Fastbreak” on Wednesday (February 5),  Director Gemma Gabuya, 4Ps National Program Manager, highlighted the significance of securing identification of all 4Ps household-members, especially children 0 to 5 years, to access essential government services.

“Pag family members ang pinag-uusapan, ibig sabihin na-eestablish na lahat yan, pati bata, pati baby. Kasi ngayon pag nagbigay ng services, buong households ang hahanapin yung kanilang identification,” Director Gabuya pointed out.

The PSA’s Rehistro Bulilit Campaign aims to encourage parents and guardians to register the youngest members of their family to the PhilSys in order to reap the benefits of having a national identification card.

“Pag PhilSys ID ka, talagang mas mabilis ang pag-access ng mga services kasi sa ngayon, ang daming hinahanap na ID, pero pag ikaw ay nagpunta sa isang ahensya na ni-rerequire ang inyong identification kahit yung PhilSys ID na lang ang ibigay mo, iyan ay tanggap na. So, mas mabilis ma-check at mas mabilis magkaroon ng access sa mga services,” the 4Ps national program manager explained.

To support the campaign, Director Gabuya urged household-beneficiaries with children 5 years old and below to register their young family members so they can avail of the Family Development Sessions (FDS) compliance equivalency for the months of February to March.

“Nakikita namin na ang Family Development Sessions ay isang platform o venue para mas mapabilis ang PhilSys registration kasi gusto natin na lahat ng 4Ps beneficiaries ay mayroong identity,” Director Gabuya pointed out.

To gain two months FDS compliance, all members of the household, including children 0 to 5, should also be registered.

4Ps beneficiaries can register with PhilSys at various designated centers, such as barangay halls, malls, FDS co-location venues, and special sites organized by the PSA.

Additionally, new registration centers will be set up in schools and daycare centers to expedite the registration of 4Ps children.

To date, based on the 4Ps monitoring report, a total of 15,938,165 4Ps beneficiaries have already registered and authenticated in the PhilSys.

The ‘4Ps Fastbreak’ is hosted by Information Officer Venus Balito of the Strategic Communication Group’s Digital Media Service (DMS) and is aired every Wednesday, 11 am, using the DSWD’s Facebook platform. (AKDL)
