Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Asst. Secretary for External Assistance and Development Juan Carlo Marquez, who is also Project Manager of Beneficiary Fast, Innovative, Responsive, Service Transformation (BFIRST), listens to members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) as they share their experiences under the 4Ps during the Family Development Session (FDS) held at Barangay West Canumay in Valenzuela City on Monday (December 4).

The conduct of the FDS is part of the 6th BFirst Project Mission field visit that aims to review the 4Ps project implementation.

Joining Asst. Sec. Marquez in the field visit are Dr. Moya Collette, Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy; Dr. Ndiamé Diop, World Bank Country Director; and Social Policy Chief Maya Faisal of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

BFIRST is a joint project of the DSWD and the World Bank that aims to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 on poor Filipino families and to strengthen the DSWD’s social protection delivery systems to become more adaptive and efficient. #
