Volunteers and personnel of the National Resource Operations Center (NROC), the main disaster response hub of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), load on Wednesday (July 17) the boxes of family food packs (FFPs) ready for dispatch to the agency’s Field Offices in Regions 6 (Western Visayas), 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), and 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN) in preparation for the possible storm in the Visayas and the flooding in Mindanao.

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian has ordered a heightened response in flood-hit areas in Visayas and Mindanao and the continued prepositioning of relief supplies in the warehouses of the agency’s regional offices down to the provincial and municipal warehouses.

The DSWD thanked the United Nations-World Food Programme (UN-WFP) for providing the trucks for the transporting of the FFPs to the field offices in Visayas and Mindanao.#
