In the Operations Center in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, DSWD staff help children disembark from a marine truck that fetched Filipinos who arrived in the Bongao port.  As of March 28, a total of 4,721 Filipinos mostly from Tawi-Tawi and Sulu returned to the country following the crackdown of the Malaysian government on undocumented foreign nationals. The displaced families were immediately provided by the Department with family packs (rice, canned goods, and noodles), hygiene kits (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, alcohol, towels, etc) and transportation assistance to return to their places of origin.
