Representatives of Mercury Drug paid a courtesy visit to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez on Friday (October 11) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City.

In the brief meeting, Undersecretary Romualdez checked with Mercury Drug officials on the on-going coordination between the agency and private corporation on their partnership on Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).

Formalized in a signed agreement last September, the private corporation is set to assist the agency to help more Filipinos in crisis situation to purchase medicines from selected drug store branches through agency-issued guarantee letters (GLs).

As a part of the preparations for the incoming implementation, personnel of the AICS earlier oriented the Mercury Drug about the agency’s standard guidelines and procedures on the issuance of GLs and payment.

Mercury Drug officers who were present in the meeting include District Managers Rowena Cerda and Michelle Resco; Ever Gotesco Commonwealth Branch Manager Maritess Rodanilla; Tandang Sora Branch Manager Visayas Relinda Alega; Fairview – Commonwealth Branch Manager Aileen Velasquez; Marikina City Concepcion Uno Josef Branch Manager Maria Cherryl Katague; and Information Assurance Officer (IAO) Rovilyn Nerio.
