The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Social Welfare Institutional Development Bureau (SWIDB), conducts the Service Delivery Capacity Assessment (SCDA) Consultation Workshop with 440 Provincial/City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (P/C/MSWDOs) in the Luzon Island Cluster held at Widus Hotel, Clark Pampanga from April 1 to 3.

The three-day activity aims to deploy more relevant and responsive technical assistance (TA), and further contextualize the TA strategies in improving the capacity of Local Government Units (LGUs) in implementing Social Welfare and Development (SWD) programs and services that will help the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable sectors.

The activity is the first of three (3) batches of consultation workshops covering LGUs from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao island clusters, in compliance with Republic Act No. 7160, or the “Local Government Code of 1991,” mandating the provision of TA to partner LGUs through the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs).

Present during the activity are Undersecretary for Standards and Capacity Building Group (SCBG) Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas, Assistant Secretary for SCBG Janet P. Armas, CESO IV, SWIDB Director Justin Caesar Anthony D. Batocabe, DSWD Field Office III Regional Director Venus F. Rebuldela, DSWD employees, and partner LGUs.
