The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Offices’ (FO)-CALABARZON and Northern Mindanao officially formalized on Tuesday (October 8) their partnership in the area of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) during a ceremonial signing held at the DSWD FO-CALABARZON office in Muntinlupa City.

Under this agreement, the DSWD-CALABARZON is set to utilize the suite of advanced ICT tools and systems developed by the DSWD-Northern Mindanao which have yielded positive results in frontline service delivery to back-end support functions.

In his message, DSWD Chief Information Officer (CIO) Asst. Secretary Julius Gorospe cited the partnership as a concerted effort in enhancing integrated systems across regions and inter-office cooperation.

“This partnership embodies our commitment to collaborate and share best practices, aligning with Secretary Rex Gatchalian’s vision of a modern, efficient, and interconnected DSWD. By working together, we maximize our internal resources, build capacity across regions, and deliver more responsive social protection services to the Filipino people,” CIO Gorospe said.

According to Asst. Secretary Gorospe, this sharing of internal resources aims to strengthen the DSWD’s digital systems and ultimately serve the needs of program clients and beneficiaries more efficiently.

DSWD-Northern Mindanao Regional Director Ramel Jamen said the collaboration will boost and improve the technological solutions of CALABARZON, particularly in streamlining their digital processes and ensuring data accuracy.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to improving services and supporting each other as one DSWD family,” Director Jamen said.

For his part, DSWD FO-4-A Regional Director Barry Chua agreed that the adoption of more advanced digital resources will scale up their ICT personnel’s skills, knowledge, tools, and processes toward more nuanced agency operations.

“We are excited to leverage the advanced ICT solutions of Field Office 10 to enhance our operational capabilities. This collaboration will strengthen our region and contribute to the Department’s overall digital transformation,” Director Chua pointed out.

In line with Secretary Gatchalian’s directive to streamline and automate agency services, the formalized collaboration is expected to serve as a model for future regional partnerships, as it puts a premium on providing timely and quality service to the Filipino people. #
