Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary for Innovations Edu Punay discusses the implementation of the 2027 WALANG GUTOM: Food Stamp Program (FSP) during the right and dignity legislative training and forum titled “Fight Hunger, Feed the People” and which was held at the House of Representatives on Monday (December 4).

In his presentation, Usec. Punay cites how the FSP helps address involuntary hunger and develop the employable skills of program beneficiaries to become productive members of society.

Other speakers in the forum include Representatives Zia Alonto Adiong, Margarita Nograles, Jose Francisco Benitez; National Food Coalition Adviser John Sevilla; Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Commissioner Atty. Beda Epres; Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary for Special Concerns and for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Engr. Zamzamin Ampatuan; and Free Legal Assistance Group Secretary General Ma. Socorro Diokno.

DSWD Undersecretary for Legislative Liaison and Coordination Group Fatima Aliah Dimaporo also attended the forum.

The forum is in line with the observance of the Human Rights Consciousness Week 2023, with the theme, “EQUALITY, JUSTICE, AND FREEDOM FOR ALL, Ensuring Freedom and Dignity for All.”#
