The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed Php26.54 million in cash aid to 8,847 qualified Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries during the rollout of the ‘Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas’ job fair last January 31 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said the cash assistance was given to each qualified 4Ps beneficiary after undergoing orientation on the services offered by participating government agencies in the job fair.

“The grantees were provided with Php3,000 each, under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. The beneficiaries can use the cash aid for their medical needs, food, and transportation allowance as they accomplish their pre-employment requirements,”  Asst. Secretary Dumlao said on Wednesday (February 5).

The ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas’ job fair was organized by the DSWD, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and other key agencies, to assist 4Ps beneficiaries in obtaining pre-employment and advisory services.

Around 76 4Ps beneficiaries were hired on-the-spot in the job fair that was participated in by 94 employers invited by the DOLE.
