The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) greets 2015 with renewed hope and enthusiasm as it celebrates its 64th founding anniversary on January 26-30 with the theme, “DSWD@64: Tuloy sa Pagbangon at Pag-unlad”.

The theme reflects how the Department continues to serve and encourage the disadvantaged and vulnerable to rise above adversities and achieve an improved quality of life.

“We dedicate our anniversary celebration to all our partner-beneficiaries who, with their resiliency, continue to create positive changes in their lives, and to our stakeholders and development partners who remain committed to help us perform our mandate,” DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman said.

She  assured that the  Department will continue its legacy of  “matapat, mabilis, mahusay at magiliw na paglilingkod  (honest, fast, efficient, and courteous service)” in the implementation of social protection and poverty reduction programs and projects.

Sec. Soliman added that the anniversary is a  timely occasion to thank the Department’s employees who have gone the extra mile to serve those in need.

Among the highlights of the celebration will be the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) for outstanding DSWD employees, and Loyalty Awards, which recognizes officials and employees who have rendered 10-40 years of service.

Partners and stakeholders will also be recognized through the PaNaTa Ko Sa Bayan Awards.

The week-long anniversary celebration will kick-off with a flag-raising ceremony on January 26, to be followed by a Thanksgiving Mass, exhibit on DSWDs performance governance scoreboard and  strategic goals, sportsfest, games, and a DSWD Got Talent competition to be participated in by employees of the Department’s Central and 16 Field Offices.

Awarding for the various competitions will cap the celebration. ###
