Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Office (FO) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on Wednesday night (October 23) assisted 50 families from Consuelo, Santa Marcela in Apayao province who were pre-emptively evacuated as the effects of Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Kristine started to be felt in the region.

DSWD CAR personnel, together with local Philippine National Police (PNP) and barangay officers personally oversaw the distribution of family food packs (FFPs), as well as the handing out of Disaster Assistance Family Access Card (DAFAC) to each recipients.

The DAFAC is a paper-form data sheet, where beneficiaries fill-out basic information such as family members and their address which also keep track of the goods and services received by the families.

As the DSWD CAR carries out relief efforts in the region, the data from DAFAC is set to ensure that the provision of goods and services are equally distributed to the families and individuals in need as STS brings inclement weather.
