Participants from local government units(LGUs) in the Central Visayas Region attend the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Academy’s 5th paralegal course training for social workers and development practitioners from July 29 to August 2 in Cebu City.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the DSWD Academy, conducted its fifth paralegal course training for social workers and development practitioners from July 29 to August 2 in Cebu City.

Some 36 trainees from various local government units (LGUs) attended the 5-day training  to improve their knowledge and skills in handling court-related cases in the Central Visayas Region.

“This initiative is not merely a training program but a testament to the DSWD Academy’s proactive approach in bridging the gap between legal knowledge and social welfare practice,” Undersecretary for Standards and Capacity Building Group (SCBG) Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas said in her opening remarks.

The DSWD Academy is one of the priority programs of Secretary Rex Gatchalian that offers learning opportunities for the development of the competencies of its partner stakeholders that are needed in the delivery of social welfare and development (SWD), as well as social protection (SP) programs and services. #
