The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 5 (DSWD Bicol Region) distributes on Monday (November 20) food and non-food relief items to families affected by the flooding incident in Masbate and Camarines Sur.

In line with the directive of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, the DSWD Bicol regional office immediately delivered 104 family food packs (FFPs), 100 pieces of malong, and 100 pieces of blankets as initial assistance to affected families seeking temporary shelter in evacuation centers in Barangays Magsaysay and Buenavista in Uson, Masbate.

The DSWD Bicol field office also provided a total of 1,667 food boxes to the costal barangays of Sula and Sabang in Vinzons, Camarines Sur.

The DSWD Bicol office continues to coordinate with the concerned local government units (LGUs) to monitor the situation, assess the conditions of internally displaced persons, and determine other needs for relief augmentation. #
