Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) officials and employees join other government agencies in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2023 held at the Central Office in Quezon City on Thursday (November 9).

Officials and employees performed the “Duck, Cover and Hold” in their respective work stations followed by the safety evacuation procedures.

The conduct of earthquake drill, headed by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), is part of the contingency plans of the government in assessing and enhancing preparedness in all public institutions and government agencies as the country is known to be earthquake-prone.

According to the OCD, the 4th Quarter NSED is in line with the World Tsunami Awareness Day (WTAD) being observed every 5th of November. #
