Pasay City – President Benigno Simeon Aquino III visited the National resource Operations Center (NROC), the main repacking center for relief goods of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), yesterday and personally thanked all the volunteers who are assisting in the repacking of relief goods for Typhoon Yolanda victims.

The President encouraged the volunteers as they “work double time” in repacking 140,000 food packs daily to be immediately sent to the devastated areas.

“We have to send these food packs para maibsan ang hirap at hindi maging desperado ang mga kababayan natin doon sa mga nasalantang lugar (to ease the suffering and desperation of our countrymen in the affected areas),” President Aquino stated.

He also emphasized the immense help that the volunteers are contributing to this whole process of aiding the disaster victims.

“Without your help, we will find it hard to feed 1.4 million victims every day.”

As of 6 am, a total of 15,198 volunteers have shared their time to repack goods at NROC since November 7.

Just yesterday, the volunteers repacked some 86,600 food packs.

DSWD has set up additional satellite repacking hubs in the Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City; Air21 Cargohaus, NAIA Complex, Parañaque City; and, Villamor Airbase, Pasay City.

Repacking is also being done by the Field Offices of DSWD in Regions V, VI, VII and CARAGA
