The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reiterated its strong stand against all forms of corruption during a meeting with the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) held on August 20 at the DSWD Auditorium.

The meeting was attended by DSWD Secretary Virginia ‘Gee’ Orogo and members of the Executive Committee, together with the directors of the different offices, bureaus, services, and DSWD’s attached agencies.

Sec. Orogo gave her assurance that DSWD officials and employees espouse the ideals of good governance and demonstrate integrity in their transactions.

“We make sure to live up to our core message, Walang puwang ang katiwalian sa pagbibigay ng serbiysong may kalinga at pagmamahal (There’s no room for corruption in an agency which provides public service anchored on genuine care and love), the Secretary said.

PACC Secretary Dante Jimenez and other officials presented their mandates and sample cases. Sec. Jimenez explained that the PACC was formed because President Rodrigo Duterte is sincere in his desire to fight corruption in government.

During the previous administrations, DSWD consistently ranked first or second as among the least corrupt government agencies, having successfully complied with the four integrity development review (IDR) tools, namely: prevention, education, deterrence and strategic partnership. ###
