Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistant Secretary for External Assistance and Development Juan Carlo Marquez meets with partners from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) led by Jens Arnold, Division Head for Country Studies, Economics Department for the Kick-off Mission for the OECD Economic Survey of the Philippines on Tuesday (February 11).

During the meeting held at the Department of Finance (DOF) in Manila, the OECD discussed the process of the forthcoming survey. This marks the Philippines’ first inclusion in an OECD Economic Survey, which aligns with similar efforts by other ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

The survey offers a unique opportunity to showcase the country’s successful pandemic recovery, commitment to macroeconomic stability, and forward-looking policy initiatives.

Cyrille Schwellnus, Head of India, Indonesia & Philippines Desk, Economics Department of the OECD; DOF Assistant Secretary Neil Adrian Cabiles and Director Jolly La Rosa were also present during the meeting.

Representatives from the DSWD-Policy Development and Planning Bureau (PDPB) who attended the meeting were Raquel Celeste, Ma. Slyvia Alegre, Monica Vallester, and Jayvee Vanzuela. (YADP)
