Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian serves as a panelist at the 2025 Washington SyCip National Education Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Wednesday (February 5).

The DSWD chief talked about the programs of the agency, particularly the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program which are the agency’s contributions in addressing the country’s educational challenges.

The 4Ps provides conditional cash grants to household-beneficiaries to keep their children in school while the Tara Basa!Tutoring Program aims to improve the reading and comprehension skills of elementary Filipino students.

Secretary Gatchalian was joined by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Juan Edgardo Angara as panelists. (YADP)
