The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have agreed to establish a working protocol for the provision of relief items during disasters and calamities.

Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe of the DSWD’s Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG), representing Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and MSSD Minister Raissa Jajurie signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) on Wednesday (December 11) at the DSWD’s Disaster Response Command Center (DRCC) at the Central Office in Quezon City.

Witnessing the MOA signing were Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) for DRMG Leo Quintilla, who is also concurrently Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB), and MSSD Bangsamoro Director General Mohammad Multadir Estrella.

Republic Act No. 11054 or the Organic Law for the BARMM states that the Bangsamoro government shall exercise authority over the social services, social welfare, and charities in the provinces under the BARMM. (YADP)
