Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) for Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) and Concurrent Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) Leo Quintilla shares updates on the status of the agency’s provision of assistance to families hit by Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Kristine at the Saturday News Forum at Dapo Restaurant in Quezon City on October 26.

SAS Quintilla said the DSWD utilized the Buong Bansa Handa Program to ensure that sufficient stockpile of family food packs (FFPs) are available in Region 5 (Bicol Region) even before STS Kristine arrived in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on October 21.

The DSWD official also mentioned disaster response innovations that are being utilized by the agency in its response operations such as the Mobile Command Center (MCC) and the portable water filtration kits. #
