Personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Office (FO) 4-A – CALABARZON reach out on Tuesday (October 22) to the evacuees of a fire incident that engulfed a residential compound in Barangay Panapaan 4 in Bacoor, Cavite Monday night.

A total of 138 families or 700 individuals have been reportedly affected, whose houses were destroyed by the fire. Most of them are currently taking temporary shelter in nearby evacuation centers in Barangay Panapaan 5 and Barangay Dulong Bayan.

With the on-going validation and assessment, the FO CALABARZON is coordinating with the local government unit (LGU) of Bacoor to determine the extent of the damage as well as the immediate needs of the evacuees.

The DSWD CALABARZON headed by Regional Director Barry Chua is also on stand-by to provide relief supplies to fire-hit families, including family food packs (FFPs), hygiene kits and sleeping kits.
