Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian signs  a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with officials of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Banco De Oro (BDO) Unibank, Inc., and the BDO Foundation to formalize the partnership that will provide the financial education tailored-fit for agency employees as well as social welfare officers in the local government units (LGUs).

The MOA was signed by BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat; BDO Unibank, Inc  President and Chief Executive Officer Nestor Tan; and BDO Foundation President Mario Deriquito.

The MOA signing coincided with the launching of the Innovative Financial Education Programs of the Bangko Sentral on Monday (August 5) at the Intramuros Room of the BSP’s head office in Malate, Manila.

During the signing ceremony, DSWD Secretary Gatchalian delivered his message of support, stressing that this initiative will bridge the gap and break the barriers in the lack of accessible learning resources.

The DSWD chief was accompanied by Undersecretary for Standards and Capacity Building  Group (SCBG) Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas.#
