The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) convenes representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and leagues of local government units (LGUs) to seek support in reporting the solicitation of non-profit organizations that are operating without the necessary permits.

The DSWD’s Standards Bureau (SB) and personnel of the DILG, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), and Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) have agreed to strengthen the monitoring of public and private Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) to check on the whether they have valid permits or they have been operating illegally.

SB Director Atty. Megan Therese Manahan, who presided over the July 2 collaborative meeting, said the activity was an opportunity for everyone to reunite efforts and be able to create a more vigilant and responsive approach in safeguarding the integrity of the implementation of social welfare and development programs. #
