Personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Office-5 (Bicol Region) continue to assist stranded passengers in various ports in the region amid the cancellation of sea travel due to rough seas and strong winds brought about by Typhoon Carina compounded by the ‘Habagat’.

Some 178 strandees at the Tabaco Port were provided with hot meals on Tuesday (July 23) by the Field Office, in partnership with the local government of Catanduanes.

While sea travel in Tabaco Port to Catanduanes has resumed, the DSWD Field Office-5 continues to monitor the different ports across Bicol and to provide immediate assistance to possible strandees. #
