DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, accompanied by DSWD Field Office 7 (Central Visayas) Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero, visits on Wednesday (July 3) a number of Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs) in Cebu City, including the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC), Home for Girls, and the Regional Haven for Women.

Secretary Gatchalian also visited the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC) which provides rehabilitation programs and services to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and their qualified dependents to make them productive members of society.

The CRCFs integrate the knowledge, skills and abilities of different disciplines in a well-defined system and a single physical setting by adopting comprehensive and developmental programs that are responsive to the needs and potentials of PWDs and their qualified dependents.

The DSWD caters to vulnerable and disadvantaged children, youth, women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities as well as individuals and families in crisis, through the operation of residential and non-residential care facilities which offer the needed interventions.
