Some 1,288 beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program (FSP) avail of affordable and nutritious food products in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo stalls during the 6th redemption day at Barangay 118 and 105 Covered Court in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday (May 28).
DSWD Undersecretary for Innovations Edu Punay and Asst. Secretary for Innovations Atty. Baldr Bringas also awarded the beneficiaries who attended the five Nutrition Education Sessions with their Certificates of Completion.
The beneficiaries used their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards with Php 3,000 food credits to buy Php 1,500 worth of carbohydrate-rich food; Php 900 for products rich in protein: and Php 600 worth of vegetables, fruits, salt, and other condiments.
The Walang Gutom 2027: FSP provides beneficiaries with access to monetary-based assistance and nutrition education to teach them how to prepare healthy and safe meals for the family. It also invites them to become productive citizens through skills training and participation in government-organized job fairs.
World Food Programme (WFP) Manager Takero Suzuki, WFP Head of Program Giorgi Dolidze, and DSWD Field Office National Capital Region Promotive Services Division Chief Mark Garcia were also present during the redemption day. #
