Some 2,500 farmers, fisherfolk and their families from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) who have been severely affected by the El Niño phenomenon receive financial aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) on Friday (July 19).
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian joined President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr in the handing out of Php10,000 to each of the AKAP beneficiaries at the Luna Municipal Gym in Luna, Apayao during the Northern Luzon leg of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and Families (PAFFF).
The DSWD chief was accompanied by Field Office (FO) CAR Regional Director (RD) Maria Atitiw Catbagan-Aplaten and Assistant RD for Operations (ARDO) Enrique H. Gascon, Jr.
Several Local Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) also showcased their products during the aid-giving activity.#
