THE WORLD Bank is satisfied so far with the implementation of a social welfare project and a livelihood project that have received funding from the bank, according to reports on its Web site on Monday.

The Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan — Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) project, under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with the bank, “is very much on track towards achieving its overall development objectives,” the project report said.

The World Bank, which had loaned Kalahi-CIDSS $159.12 million, rated the project’s overall progress as satisfactory.

Meanwhile, the progress of the Social Inclusion and Alternative Livelihood for the Informal Waste Sector project, implemented by the Solid Waste Management Association of the Philippines, was rated moderately satisfactory.

The project seeks to improve the livelihood of informal garbage workers such as pickers and itinerant waste buyers who may be affected by the modernization of solid waste management.

The Japan Social Development Fund, through the World Bank, provided this project a $2.86 million grant.
